National Security Scholars Program

Since the tragic events of September 11th, the Homeland Security field has become even more important to our nation. The attacks and their continuing aftermath underscore the new complexities of achieving security in an open, networked world and the need for employees who can quickly and critically analyze challenges, carefully weigh evidence and effectively communicate all of which are attributes of a liberal arts education.

The I-Fund’s National Security Scholars Program was established to help support talented young men and women on I-Fund member campuses who have demonstrated an interest in serving their country through work in the Homeland Security industry.

Businesses and foundations may choose from the following investment options:

The National Security Scholars Program is a nationally recognized program that offers $15,000 scholarships, assistance with national security clearance processing, paid summer internships with government and private industry plus the opportunity for job placement following graduation. Program is open to students with outstanding academic records and attending an I-Fund member college or university.

Program investors include:

AT&T, Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI, Computer Sciences Corporation, DRC, e.magination, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, ManTech, Raytheon, SAIC, Serco and the National Security Agency.

  • Acknowledgment in all 10 I-Fund member colleges' annual reports
  • Acknowledgement in The I-Fund's newsletters, annual report and collateral material
