
An investment in the I-Fund’s Emerging Technology Initiative provides a return in the form of a highly educated and technologically savvy pool of information-age employees for Maryland businesses and communities by supporting scholarships for students majoring or with a career interest in technology-related fields. The Health & Life Sciences Program is designed to help ensure the continuation of high quality research and academic training at I-Fund member institutions and to build connections between the business and academic communities to develop a talent pool for Maryland’s health and life sciences industries. The program includes $5,000 scholarships for students majoring in or have demonstrated a career interest in the biological sciences, biochemistry, biophysics, microbiology and related scientific fields — including chemistry, computer science, physics and environmental health. It also includes the possibility of a summer internship with a program funder.
Named Scholarships may be offered to students majoring in or with a demonstrated interest in fields related to: Information Technology, Information Systems, Software and Web Development, Communications Technologies, Computer Science, Life Sciences and related disciplines.
