Business Leadership Initiative

The Business Leadership Initiative supports Maryland’s independent liberal arts colleges in producing graduates with the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to ensure success in ever-changing markets.

Business and foundation partners may select from the following investment options:

Leadership scholarships are awarded on all 10 campuses to students with financial need who demonstrate leadership potential. This scholarship is annually named in honor of an outstanding individual selected by the Board of Directors to receive The I-Fund’s Leadership Award. A $25,000 Challenge Grant from UPS is matched dollar for dollar, with the goal of providing one $5,000 scholarship on each campus. A minimum investment of $1,000 is required.

The Maryland Scholars Program was established to encourage Maryland students to live and work in the state following graduation. The program offers annual, renewable scholarships to Marylanders on every campus. Revenue from this fund is distributed to all member colleges annually by formula based on enrollment once a minimum of $1,000 is available for each college. A minimum investment of $1,000 is required.

Named Scholarships may be offered to students majoring in or with a demonstrated interest in: Business Administration, Financial Management, Accounting, Economics, International Studies and other related disciplines.
