2^nd Annual Rob Spar I-Fund Golf Classic

This year, Saul Ewing hosted the event at the Country Club of Maryland, located in Towson, on July 26, 2010. With more than 80 golfers playing and nearly 100 dinner guests, the 2nd Annual Rob Spar I-Fund Golf Classic generated more than $30,000, benefiting both the I-Fund and the Spar Education Trust Fund, which will benefit Rob's three children.

In its inaugural year the Rob Spar I-Fund Golf Classic was hosted by Saul Ewing at the Country Club of Maryland in Towson on July 20, 2009. The day was well attended and guests included Rob's wife, parents, friends and colleagues. The Spar Golf Classic was by all accounts a great success and culminated with dinner and silent auction. Proceeds from the event supported the Spar Children's Educational Trust and the I-Fund. Keeping with Rob's interests while serving on the board, proceeds designated to the I-Fund supported the Health & Life Sciences Scholars and Urban Scholars Programs.

Robert A. Spar, former partner with Saul Ewing LLP, a prominent Baltimore law firm, long time I-Fund Board member and past I-Fund Board Chairman, passed away in 2008. To remember Rob, colleagues, family and friends joined together to hold an event honoring Rob's memory and raise money to support his greatest passions, his children and the Independent College Fund of Maryland.
